What does S.T.A.R. stand for?

Stem Through Achievement and Recognition.

Who founded S.T.A.R.?

Two UMBC alumni named Ashley Scott and Jessica McCollough founded this organization during the 2013-2014 school year.

What school does S.T.A.R. partner with?

Calvin Rodwell Elementary School in Baltimore City, Maryland, but we are looking for additional schools to partner with starting 2018-2019 school year.

What is required of S.T.A.R. members?

Full membership is awarded after someone attends two meetings.

Engagement in activities and planning are expected of members. Members are also encouraged to participate in visits and/or planning.

When and Where does S.T.A.R. meet?

We meet on the University of Maryland- Baltimore County's campus during free hour every Wednesday in room 103 in the Math/PSYC building (opposite the University Center on Academic Row).

When are E-Board elections held?

E-Board elections are held between April 15 and April 30.
